Japan Kei cars August 2013: Honda N-Box back to pole position

Some rare good news coming from Japan: sales of Kei cars are now frankly into positive territory, up a 8% year-on-year in August to 149,343 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 1,407,750 units, down just 0.4% on 2012. After a 5 months hiatus, the Honda N-Box is back in pole position thanks to 17,995 sales, up 4% year-on-year, thus maintaining its year-to-date lead over the Daihatsu Move, #1 for the last 4 months, at 156,034 units vs. 149,261. The Suzuki Wagon R is stable at #3, the Suzuki Spacia is up 2 spots to a best-ever #4 with 10,477 sales and the Nissan Dayz down 2 to #6 and 9,598 units.
