Sales of Kei cars are back in positive: up 2% year-on-year in July to 187,797 registrations, which brings the year-to-date total to 1,258,410 units, now down just 1% on 2012. The Daihatsu Move lodges its third consecutive month atop the sales charts at 20,672 units, up a fantastic 47% year-on-year, however this is still not enough to grab the pole position year-to-date: the Move totals 134,773 sales vs. 138,039 for the Honda N-Box, #2 once again at 19,736 units, down 10% year-on-year. The Suzuki Wagon R rounds up the podium as it has been the case for the last 4 months with 15,951 sales.
The Nissan Dayz delivers a second very strong score, improving to 13,944 sales for its 2nd month in market and now up to #11 at 26,191 units year-to-date. Its twin the Mitsubishi eK is up 182% on July 2012 to 7,089 sales at #10. The Suzuki Spacia also impresses: up two spots to #6 at 12,522 units. Notice also the Honda N-One down 3 ranks to #9.
