Romania July 2013: Dacia Logan hits 20% share, highest in a year

New car sales in Romania significantly slow down their fall this month, going from -46% year-on-year in June to just -5% in July to 5,714 registrations. The year-to-date total stands at 30,263 units, down 23% on 2012. The Dacia Logan seems to finally enjoy the benefits of the new generation of the model, reaching 19.9% market share in July thanks to 1,135 sales, its highest share in the country since June 2012… The Skoda Octavia stays at a strong 2nd place with 260 units and 4.6% and is now followed by a VW Golf in great shape, up one spot to #3 with 254 sales and 4.4%, leaving the Dacia Duster at #4 but still #2 year-to-date with 1,576 units and 5.2%.
Other great performers this month in Romania include the VW Jetta up 2 spots to #7, the Skoda Rapid up 2 to feature inside the Romanian Top 10 for the third time in the last 4 months, the Fiat 500 up a mammoth 52 ranks on June to #15, the Ford Kuga up 27 to #16 and the Peugeot 301 breaking into the Romanian Top 20 for the very first time, up 26 spots to #19 with 62 sales and 1.1%.
