New car sales in Slovenia are up 3% year-on-year in July to 4,229 registrations, which brings the year-to-date total into positive, but just: at 32,458 sales it is up 0.05% or 26 units over 2012! The Renault Clio is sovereign once again with 317 sales and 7.5%, reinforcing its 2013 leadership at 2,597 units and 8%, but this month’s hero is the Kia Cee’d, up to a massive 5.6% market share thanks to 236 sales. The Cee’d is still #3 year-to-date below the VW Golf but should be able to fight for a second spot over the Full Year 2013 if it keeps at these stratospheric levels. The VW Golf, Polo and Renault Megane follow.
The other surprise this month in Slovenia is the Fiat 500L, produced in neighbouring Serbia, up from nowhere (read outside the June Top 70) directly inside the Top 10 at #10 with 82 sales and 1.9%, making Slovenia the third country in the world where the 500L has broken into the Top 10 so far with Italy and Serbia. Notice also the Hyundai i30 up 7 spots to #7, the Peugeot 3008 up 15 to #14, Renault Captur down 3 to #16, Fiat Panda up to #19 vs. #37 year-to-date, Skoda Superb up to #23 vs. #55, Opel Insignia up 25 to #26 and the Peugeot 2008 up 7 to #38.
