Polish car dealers can grin: their market is up a very healthy 9% year-on-year in June in an otherwise very depressed European climate, bringing the year-to-date total to 165,775 units, now down just 0.5% on 2012. For the third time so far in 2013 and the 8th time in the last 12 months, the Skoda Octavia is the favourite vehicle in Poland thanks to 1,077 sales and 3.8%, however this is still not enough to catch up on the Skoda Fabia in the year-to-date ranking at 5,548 units and 3.3% vs. 6,107 and 3.7%. The VW Golf holds itself inside the Polish podium for the 2nd month running with 840 sales and 3% and is now #4 year-to-date.
Another solid month for the Renault Clio, stable at #6 with 2.3% share, while the Hyundai i30 breaks into the Top 10 for the first time since October 2010, up 3 spots on May to #8 at 617 units and 2.2% and the Kia Cee’d is up 5 to #11. Further down, notice the Dacia Sandero jumping from outside the Top 50 last month to #24 in June and both the Citroen C-Elysee (#47) and Peugeot 301 (#50) appearing within the Polish Top 50 in the same month for the first time.
