Big event this month in Slovenia: for the first time since June 2011, new car sales are up year-on-year at +8% to 4,702 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 17,470 units, down 7% on 2012. No surprise atop the models ranking: the podium is identical to last month and to the year-to-date ranking: the Renault Clio leads the way with 339 sales and 7.2% followed by the VW Golf at 204 units and 4.3% and the VW Polo with 159 sales and 3.4%.

The Skoda Octavia is up a very healthy 7 spots on March to #4 and the Citroen C4 is back up 23 to #9 but the most impressive progression in the Top 10 this month is delivered by the Fiat 500, up from outside the Top 50 last month directly to #7 with 121 sales and 2.6%, two-thirds of which are the convertible version which seems odd. Perhaps a one-off order from one of the rental companies in business in Slovenia in preparation for summer? Other noticeable movements include the Dacia Duster up 6 to #12, the Peugeot 3008 up 9 to #14, Ford B-Max up 13 to #17, Hyundai i30 up 19 to #19, Skoda Rapid at #28 and Skoda Superb at #33.
