Ukraine January 2013: Geely CK in the lead once again! UPDATED

It’s a shy start of the year in Ukraine with just 11,170 new vehicles finding a buyer in January. Surprise on top: the Geely CK manages to lead the models ranking for the 2nd month in a row and the third time ever after last July thanks to 418 sales and 3.7%! This is becoming a habit now… could a Chinese model lead the ranking of a major European country over a Full Year in 2013? That would be a first… The locally-produced ZAZ Sens is back up to #2 at 365 units and 3.3% with the Hyundai Accent rounding up the podium like over the Full Year 2012 with 349 sales and 3.1%, equal with the Lada Samara.

Leader in 2012, the Skoda Octavia is down to 5th place this month at 303 units and 2.7% while the Lada 4×4 (aka Niva) lodges another excellent month at #6 with 280 sales and 2.5% vs. #20 in 2012. Other great performers this month include the Nissan Qashqai up to #9 vs. #15 in 2012, the Geely Emgrand EC7 breaking into the Ukrainian Top 10 for the first time at #10 vs. #25 in 2012, Nissan Juke up to #12 vs. 26 and Ford Kuga up to #13 vs. #31. Notice also the ZAZ Vida up to #17 vs. #29 and the Geely MK-2/Cross staying at a fantastic #19 spot vs. #66 in 2012, making it 3 Geelys in the Top 20 this month!

In fact, Geely is up to #2 brand in January only 8 units below Hyundai at 940 sales and 8.4%, and above Lada at 850 and 7.6%…
