Canada February 2013: Toyota RAV4 jumps into Top 10

The Top 4 most popular models in Canada stay unchanged vs. January: the Ford F-Series leads by far once again with 7,317 sales, followed by the Dodge Ram at 5,174 units, the Hyundai Elantra with 3,537 sales and best-selling Passenger Car for the second month running and the Dodge Grand Caravan at 3,172 units, down 20% year-on-year. The Honda Civic is up 2 spots to a still very shy 5th place and is down 16% on February 2012 to 2,777 sales.
The big event in the Top 10 is the arrival of the Toyota RAV4, boosted by the third generation in run-out mode and the 4th one landing in dealerships: it is up a massive 29 ranks on January and 60% year-on-year to #9 with 2,371 sales, its first time inside the Canadian Top 10 since December 2011. Other great performers this month include the VW Jetta at #12 (+44%), Honda Accord at #24 (+226%) and Kia Rio at #25 (+47%). Further down, notice the BMW X3 up 31 spots to #52, Chevrolet Spark up 93 to #53, Dodge Dart down one to #60, Chevrolet Trax up 7 to #80, BMW 1 Series up 47 to #94, Cadillac ATS up 21 to #112 and Buick Encore up 34 to #205.
