Argentina December 2012: Ford Ecosport gets a boost

New car sales in Argentina are down 4% year-on-year in December to 37,063 registrations, bringing the Full Year 2012 total to 840,679 units, down 2% on 2011. After being passed by the VW Gol Power in November, the Chevrolet Classic reclaims its traditional pole position this month with 1,935 sales and 5.2%, kicking the Gol Power down to #2 at 1,504 units and 4.1%. The Ford Ka shines in December and is up 4 spots on last month to round up the podium thanks to 1,432 sales and 3.9%. The Renault Kango stays robust at #4 with 1,224 units and 3.3%.
Boosted by the arrival of the new model, the Ford Escosport shoots up 24 ranks on November to land at #8 with 1,043 sales and 2.8%, just ahead of the Ford Ranger still very solid at #9 and 1,002 units. The Ford Fiesta Kinetic also gets a kick, up 14 spots to #15, while the Chevrolet Spin is up 17 to #21 and the Chevrolet Sonic up 15 to #29. We welcome two newcomers in the Argentinean ranking this month: the Renault Clio Mio at #49 with 199 sales and the Citroen Nuevo C3 at #57 and 141 units.
