Argentina November 2012: VW Gol Power takes the lead

6th month in a row of year-on-year decrease for Argentinean car sales: November is down 12% to 57,664 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 819,235 units, down 2% on 2011. Just as the new generation VW Gol Trend hits dealerships in the country, the VW Gol Power (the Gol of now 2 generations ago) grabs the pole position for the first time since November 2011 thanks to 2,440 sales and 4.2% share but stays #4 year-to-date at 26,556 units and 3.2%. The Chevrolet Classic is down one spot to #2 with 2,229 sales and 3.9%, remaining in the 2012 year-to-date pole position by far at 38,325 units and 4.7%.

Fiat Grand Siena

The VW Suran (aka SpaceFox) maintains itself at a brilliant third place with 1,964 sales and 3.4% while the Renault Kangoo is up 4 ranks to #4 and the Toyota Hilux is up 2 to #5. The Ford Ranger lodges another excellent score, up 2 spots to #8 with 1,485 units and 2.6%, the VW Gol Trend is down 4 to #9 but still #2 year-to-date at 30,464 sales and 3.7% and the Fiat Siena is up a massive 10 ranks to #10 at 1,413 units and 2.5% thanks to the arrival of the new gen ‘Grand Siena’.

Chevrolet Spin

Further down, the Peugeot 308 reaches its highest ranking so far in Argentina at #13 with 1,105 sales and 1.9%, the Fiat Qubo is up 4 spots to #21 vs. #41 year-to-date, the Citroen C3 Picasso ranks #36 vs. #61 and the Chevrolet Spin makes its first appearance in the Argentinean Top 50 at #38 with 463 units.
