Bahrain November 2012: Toyota Prado at record heights

New car sales in Bahrain are up 29% year-on-year in November to 3,717 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 42,159 units, up 47% on 2011. October highlights included the 5th place of the Nissan Altima, the Toyota Yaris up to #12, the Hyundai Santa Fe at #16, Lexus RX at #17, Mercedes E-Class at #20 and Nissan Micra at #21. In November, the Toyota Prado takes command of the Bahraini models ranking with a huge 426 sales and 11.5% share, only the 2nd time this year after August that the Toyota Land Cruiser is not #1, and an all-time record for the model in Bahrain. For perspective, the Prado’s November score equals to half its sales over the entire year 2011 in the country!

GMC Yukon XL

The Land Cruiser is down to #2 at 296 units and 8% but stays in pole position year-to-date by far with 3,584 sales and 8.5% vs. 3,109 and 7.4% for the Prado. The Toyota Hilux, Corolla and Hyundai Tuscon follow as per the year-to-date ranking, while the Nissan Altima maintains itself at very high levels at #6 vs. #11 YTD. Notice also the Honda Accord up 2 spots to break into the Bahraini Top 10 at #9, the Lexus LX and Nissan Micra solid at #17 and #18 respectively, the Ford Taurus up 41 to #26, Porsche Cayenne up 8 to #33, GMC Yukon XL up to #37 vs. #122 YTD and the Lexus LS up to #42 vs. #92 YTD.
