Mexico September 2012: Chevrolet Aveo breaks record again

Mexican new car sales enjoy their 31st consecutive month of year-on-year growth (since February 2010!) at +8% to 79,960 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 701,901 units, up a robust 11% on 2011. The Chevrolet Aveo leads the models ranking for the 10th month in a row and breaks its volume and share records once again in September at 6,534 sales and 8.2%. This is in fact the highest share reached by any model in Mexico since the Nissan Tsuru hit 9% in June 2010 and the biggest monthly volume for a single model in potentially 4 years.

VW Nuevo Jetta

The VW Clasico ranks #2 like in August, its third time in the Top 2 in the last 12 months, and sells 4,195 units for a 5.2% market share, its highest since last October. Its stays #3 year-to-date at 28,683 sales and 4.1%, down 36% on 2011. The Nissan Versa rounds up the podium at 3,419 units and 4.3% and is still #2 year-to-date with 32,059 sales and 4.6%, up 232% on 2011. Finally, the VW Nuevo Jetta lodges its strongest ever volume and share at 2,852 units and 3.6% at #5 while the Nissan March is back in the Top 10 at #9 and the Seat Ibiza shines at 1,282 sales.
