Mexico July 2026: Ram 1200 up to new heights in strongest market in 10 years

Ram 1200 sales triple year-on-year in Mexico.

New light vehicle sales in Mexico grow 3.4% year-on-year in July to 130,835 units (on revised 2025 figures). This is the second largest July volume in Mexican history and the best in 10 years, below the record 131,772 units of July 2016. The year-to-date volume is up 5% to 885,356 which is an all time record, eclipsing the 865,224 units of 2017. Nissan (-0.7%) is stable and easily wins in the brands ranking again at a dominant 17.9% share vs. 11.6% for the #2 Chevrolet (+2.8%). Volkswagen advances 7% to 8.9% of the market ahead of Toyota (+5.8%) and Kia (+0.1%). Below Mazda (-9.8%) in difficulty, Ram shoots up 80.6% year-on-year and four spots on last month to reach #7 with 5,322 sales and 4.1% share. This is the carmaker’s highest ever ranking, also reached last February, and 2nd best volume and share below the 6,070 and 4.2% of December 2023. Geely (+127.6%) does even better and stays inside the Top 10.

Model-wise, Nissan manages a 1-2 for the first time since last November with the Versa (-7.9%) in the lead at 5.7% share followed by the NP300 Pickup (+28.3%) at 4.4%. The Kia K3 (+11.1%) remains in third place while the Chevrolet Aveo (+10%) is down two ranks on June to #4 but stays #2 year-to-date. The Ram 1200 (+198.3%) breaks into the Mexican Top 5 for the first time (previous best #6 last February) wile the Mazda CX-30 (+16.3%) is up five spots on last month to #6 and the VW Virtus (+57.7%) up 11 to #7. The Renault Kwid (+85.1%) follows a record-breaking month of June with an equally satisfying 8th position vs. #15 year-to-date. The Chevrolet Groove (+82.4%), Geely Emgrand (+69.9%) and Chevrolet Captiva (+60.1%) also shine further down.
