It looks like the Slovenian new car market is taking the direction of other Southern European markets like Greece, Spain and Portugal, with sales down an abysmal 26% year-on-year in August to just 3,072 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 35,504, down 15% on 2011. Away from the top since May, the Renault Clio reclaims its traditional leadership this month thanks to 164 sales for a 5.3% share. It therefore reinforces its 2012 year-to-date pole position at 2,043 units and 5.8%.

Kia Cee’d

Volkswagen lodges an excellent month in Slovenia and places the Polo at #2 with 116 sales and 3.8% (#3 year-to-date) and the Golf at #3 with 102 units and 3.3% (#4 year-to-date), while the Renault Megane is down two spots to #4 and 2.9% but stays #2 year-to-date at 4.4%. Exceptional performance of the Kia Cee’d up a further 3 ranks to #5 with 89 sales and 2.9% vs. #13 and 1.8% year-to-date. The Peugeot 208 continues to gear up, now ranking #7 at 76 units and 2.5%.
