Latvia 6 months 2012: Peugeot places 5008 and 3008 in Top 5

Over the first 6 months of 2012, new car sales in Latvia are up 7% compared to the same period in 2011 at 5,462 registrations. While the Nissan Juke had managed to grab the pole position over the first 3 months of the year, it is down to a still excellent 2nd place over 6 months with 187 sales and 3.4%, giving the top spot back to the VW Golf, leader in the country in 2010 and 2011, at 197 units and 3.6% share in spite of sales down 46% year-on-year.

Peugeot 3008

Peugeot manages to place its two crossovers in the Top 5: the 5008 is up 78% year-on-year to #3 with 183 sales and 3.4% (it was #22 in 2011) while the 3008 is up 122% to #5 at 171 units and 3.1% compared to #24 in 2011. In between we find the Skoda Yeti at #4 with 176 sales and 3.2%, even #1 over Q2 2012 at 111 units and 3.7%. Notice also the Renault Laguna coming from nowhere to #17 over the period, the Ford Fiesta up 48 spots to #19, the Nissan Note up 32 to #21, the Lexus RX solid at #33 and the Hyundai i40 up 9 to #38.

    Very interesting movements – in the ranking that is.

    Peugeot will wish homeland France would embrace the 5008 and 3008 in similar fashion.
    Laguna out of nowhere (formally a 4800% rise ;-) )
    A Juke challenging the Golf for #1, the Lexus RX at #33 outselling a Yarsi and Polo!
    Pretty hilarious.
