Canada June 2012: Dodge Grand Caravan at highest since 2007

For the first time in 2012, new car sales are down year-on-year in Canada at -1% to 168,871. The year-to-date total is up a very healthy 7% to 862,830 units, making Canada the Top 10 car market in the world. The Ford F-Series dominates as usual with 9,867 sales, up 2%, followed by the Dodge RAM at 6,342 units. The Dodge Caravan is up one spot to climb back on the podium and with 6,103 sales it delivers its strongest volume in potentially 5 years as 2007 was the last year it sold at similar levels in Canada.

Ford Edge

Apart from the Honda Civic down to #4 but up 18% on June 2011, the rest of the Top 9 is identical to the 2012 year-t0-date ranking with the Hyundai Elantra at #5 and the GMC Sierra at #6. Further down, the Ford Edge is up 3 spots to #14 with 2,747 sales which could be its highest ever monthly volume in Canada! Notice also the Ford Fiesta up 6 ranks to #21 and the Mazda CX-5 at #36 with 1,284 units.

The Mazda6 is up 51 spots to #59, the GMC Acadia up 41 to #61, the Ford Flex up 15 to #64, the Honda Fit up 28 to #72, the Buick Enclave up 25 to #81, Chevrolet Traverse up 27 to #86 and the Audi A4 up 19 to #89. The Scion FR-S, aka Toyota GT86, lands directly within the Canadian Top 100 at #97 with 410 sales for its first month in the country while its twin the Subaru BRZ ranks #156 with 114 units.

    Numbers are wrong from 38th on down, as the text at the link you gave points out in the best-selling cars list. 3-Series sales were higher than Sorento and Rio.
