Brazil mid-July 2012: Fiat Siena up to #7, Chevy Sonic in Top 50

Brazilian new car sales are up a very healthy 22% year-on-year at mid-July to 170,636 registrations. The Top 4 best-selling models are unchanged vs. June with the VW Gol leading the way with 14,565 sales and 8.5% share, followed by the Fiat Uno at 13,737 units and 8.1%, the VW Fox/CrossFox with 8,945 sales and 5.2% and the Fiat Palio at 8,728 units and 5.1%, all with shares significantly superior to their 2012 year-to-date levels.
Thanks to the new model the Fiat Siena is up 2 spots on June to 5,810 sales and 3.4% at #7, the nameplate’s highest position since June 2011. The Fiat Strada is also in great shape, up 3 ranks to #8 while the Chevrolet Cobalt is up 2 to #12, the Chevrolet Montana up 5 to #16 and the Chevrolet S10 stays at a very solid 18th place. Further down, notice the Chevrolet Sonic sedan up 19 spots to break into the Brazilian Top 50 for the first time at #46 with 803 sales while the hatch version lands at #92 with 261 units.
