2011 is definitely an excellent year for new car sales in Mexico, with May up 17% year-on-year to 80,267 registrations and bringing the year-to-date total to 383,731 units, up 11% on 2011. The Chevrolet Aveo seems unbeatable this year and celebrates its 6th consecutive month in pole position with 5,009 sales and 6.2%, its highest market share ever in the country! It logically leads year-to-date at 22,398 units and 5.8%. The Nissan Versa stays solid in 2nd place with 3,826 sales and 4.8%, ahead of 2011’s leader the VW Clasico, up one spot to #3 at 3.9%.

Two other models really shine this month in the Mexican Top 10: the Chevrolet Spark reaches its highest ranking ever in the country at #4 with 2,730 sales and 3.4% and the Honda CR-V is back up to #6 (a position it held last February) thanks to 2,560 units sold and 3.2% share, up 4 spots on last month. Reversely the Nissan Tsuru keeps going down: -2 this month vs. April to #7 with 2,435 sales and 3%.
