There is a lot at stake this month for French car sales as June is traditionally one of the strongest months of the year. But it hasn’t started well: over the first 5 days only 20,320 new cars were registered, 20% less than the same week last year. As usual Renault starts the month weakly at #3 and 11.5%, just above VW at 10,7% and way below Peugeot (17.1%) and Citroen (15.3%). Notice Dacia up a massive 29%, potentially thanks to the Lodgy and Audi #2 foreign brand with 4.1% share.
For the first time since last April, the Citroen C3 manages to top the weekly models ranking with 812 sales and 4% share. The Peugeot 208 appears on the podium of a models ranking for the first time anywhere in the world at #2 with 686 units and 3.4% while the 207 is out of the Top 10 and the Clio is at a feeble #6 (but will catch up later in the month).
Volkswagen has got us accustomed to great starts of the month and June is no exception: the VW Polo is #3 with 646 sales and 3.2% and the VW Golf is #5 at 522 units and 2.6%. The two Germans are the only two foreign models in the Top 10 where the Citroen C4 Picasso (#7) and Dacia Duster (#10) reappear.
