Sweden March 2012: Volvo V70, V60 and VW Passat sovereign

The Swedish car market performs better than expected in this start of the year at just -3% both in March with 28,555 registrations and year-to-date at 67,976 units. The Top 5 best-selling models in the country have stayed unchanged since January: the Volvo V70 leads the way with 1,990 sales and 7% share this month vs. 8% year-to-date, while the VW Passat continues to impress at 1,680 units and 5.9% and 4,821 sales and 7.1% year-to-date, up 103% on 2011!

Renault Megane

The Volvo V60 rounds up the podium with 1,371 sales and 4.8%, its strongest share since last November, ahead of the VW Golf at 4.3%, its highest point since last August, and the Volvo V50 at 2.7%. The Renault Megane continues to progress, up to #6 and 2.4% in March, the Audi A4 is up 12 spots on last month to #7, the Skoda Fabia up 21 to #8, the BMW 3 Series holding itself within the Top 10 at #10 and the Audi A6 up 5 ranks to #11.

Further down, it looks like Hyundai got its mojo back, with the i20 up 40 spots on February to #12 and the i30 up 39 ranks to #16. The Fiat Ducato is back in the Top 50 at #27, the BMW X3 is up to #39 and the Audi Q3 breaks into the Swedish Top 50 for the very first time at #50 with 158 sales and 0.6% market share.
