Sweden February 2012: VW Passat up to 8.3% share!

Car sales in Sweden are down 1% year-on-year in February at 20,735 registrations, bringing the 2012 year-to-date total to 39,421 units, down 2%. While the Volvo V70 stays on top with 1,925 sales and a very robust 9.3% share, the star of the show is once again the VW Passat, beating its market share record in the country for the third month in a row at an amazing 8.3% thanks to 1,727 units sold!

The Top 5 is unchanged vs. January with the Volvo V60 rounding up the podium with 957 sales and 4.6%, the VW Golf #4 at 3.3% and the Volvo V50 #5 at 3.2%. Good month for the Kia Cee’d up to #6, BMW 3 Series up to #10, Subaru Legacy up to #15,  the Mercedes E Class up 22 spots on January to #26, the Mercedes B Class up to #31 and Kia Venga up to #35.

    The V60 outsells the S60 7 to 1, and the V50 outsells the S40 6 to 1. I wonder what the mix is like ( estate vs sedan/hatch ) in other brands.
