Thanks to Igor I am now able to share with you for the first time on Best Selling Cars Blog a monthly Top 200 models ranking for Ukraine! Very exciting times, as Ukraine’s best-sellers are a mix of Russian, Eastern+Western European, Korean and Chinese influences… And February brought its lot of surprises: whereas the ZAZ Lanos is usually the standout best-seller in the country, this month it is passed by the Skoda Octavia, leader with 558 sales and 4.1% share vs. 434 and 3.2% for the Lanos. The VW Polo rounds up the podium with 395 units and 2.9%, just one unit above the Renault Logan at #4.

Skoda Octavia

Based on the Chevrolet Lanos while the ZAZ Lanos is a rebadged Daewoo Lanos (it’s all in the details), the ZAZ Sens ranks 5th with 389 sales and 2.8%, ahead of this month’s best-selling Russian model, the Lada Samara, #6 at 363 units. In 10th position we find Ukraine’s favourite Chinese model: the Geely CK with 264 sales and 1.9%. Geely also places the Emgrand EC7 at #34, the MK at #38, the MK-2 at #61 and the SL at #99.

ZAZ Forza

While it has only been on sale for a few months, the Renault Duster is an instant hit in Ukraine, already ranking #12 with 192 sales and 1.4%. The third best-selling ZAZ, the Forza, could be mistaken as the #2 Chinese car in the country as it is none other than a badge-engineered Chery Fulwin 2. It delivers 137 units at #28 this month for a solid 1% market share.

Geely MK

Further down the ranking, notice the Ford Kuga at #30, the VW Touareg at #36, Mercedes ML-Class at #73, Lexus RX at #79, BMW 5 Series at #81 and Infiniti FX at #82. Apart from all Geely, Chery is the other successful Chinese manufacturer in Ukraine, placing the QQ at #88, the Beat at #98, Kimo at #104, M11 at #117, Tiggo at #123 and Amulet at #135. The BYD F3 ranks 137th, the Great Wall Haval H3 is #169 and the Lifan 320 is #172.

The “Lens” is a low-end version. The “Forza” even as it’s a license build, gives a chance for the “ZAZ” brand to survive a bit longer, as it looks (and most likely is) a lot newer than everything else ZAZ did build recently.

Alharith :Why it seems that Japanese companies are doing very bad in here what’s wrong?

It is the same in the european market.

New data from europe give evidence, that korean brands are very successful at the moment.
