Denmark November 2011: VW Passat in pole position

15,044 new cars were registered last month in Denmark, bringing the year-to-date total to 154,660 units. For the first time since the current generation has gone on sale, the VW Passat leads the way in the models ranking with a very solid 770 sales and 5.1% share. It jumps from #7 to #4 year-to-date at 3,865 units and 2.5%. In fact, it’s an outstanding month for the Volkswagen brand, placing 4 models in the Top 8: the Polo at #3, Touran at #6 (+16 on October) & Golf at #8.
As usual the Danish market is very volatile and the other great performers this month show impressive growth. They include the new gen Toyota Yaris up 19 spots to #4, the Ford Mondeo up 20 ranks to #7, the Citroen C5 up 35 spots to #9 and the Citroen C3 up 22 ranks to #11. The Chevrolet Spark is down to #10 but stays #1 over the first 11 months of 2011 with 5,480 sales and 3.5%, followed by the Toyota Aygo (#5 this month) at 2.9% and the Opel Corsa (#12 this month) at 2.7%. Notice the new Kia Rio landing directly in 35th place with 171 units sold for its first month.
