Denmark October 2011: Kia Picanto #1, VW Passat & Polo follow

At 12,330 registrations, the Danish car market is down 9% year-on-year in October, but still up 12% year-to-date at 139,548 units, recovering its pre-2008 financial crisis level. For the second time this year after August, the Kia Picanto is on top of the models ranking, this time with 420 sales and 3.4% market share. It is now up to #16 year-to-date at 2,421 units and 1.7%.

Two Volkswagens follow: the VW Passat is up 6 spots on September to #2 with 388 sales and 3.1%, it is #7 year-to-date (vs. #43 in 2010!), and the VW Polo is up 9 ranks on last month to #3 at 379 units. The Chevrolet Spark, albeit down 2 spots to #4, stays in the 2011 lead with 5,143 sales and 3.7% while the Peugeot 107 is back up 15 spots to #5, also its 2011 ranking.

Other great performers this month in Denmark include the Toyota Avensis up 24 spots to #6, the Mazda6 up 57 spots to #13, the Peugeot 508 up 4 spots to #17, the new generation Toyota Yaris up 32 spots to #23 and the Peugeot 5008 up to #47.
