Brazil November 2011: VW Gol close to 17th consecutive #1 year

Unusual month in Brazil where car sales are actually down 2% at 305,252 registrations, bringing the 2011 year-to-date total to 3,096,410 units, up 4%. The VW Gol enjoys its 10th month in pole position this year with 24,352 sales and 8% share, reinforcing its 2011 leadership at 269,244 units and 8.7%, and closing in on what will be its 17th consecutive year atop the Brazilian models ranking. The Fiat Uno is faithful to its 2nd place with 23,001 sales and 7.5% this month and 249,290 and 8.1% year-to-date.
The Chevrolet Celta is stable in 3rd place while the VW Fox and Fiat Palio both gain one spot to rank #4 and #5. The Renault Duster continues to progress and breaks into the Top 20 for the first time this month at #19 with 3,876 sales and 1.3%. The Chevrolet Cruze is also up, to #26 at 2,823 units and 0.9% while the Nissan March is up 15 spots on October to #34 with 2,261 sales.
Other great performers include the Fiat 500 breaking into the Brazilian Top 50 for the first time in a full month at #48, the Hyundai Elantra up 12 spots to #69, the Nissan Versa landing directly at #77 with 824 sales and the Range Rover Evoque arriving in 120th place with 260 units sold. Chinese pick-ups keep disembarking in Brazil: after the Hafei Start, the Huanghai Plutus, a rebadged old gen Chevrolet Colorado, makes its first appearance in the ranking with 27 units sold.
