Mexico June 2011: VW Clasico now leader year-to-date!
Mexican car sales are still clearly ahead of 2010, up 14% in June at 68,365 registrations. The VW Clasico continues to impress: it ranks 1st for the 4th time this year and delivers its best scores yet: 5,373 sales for a 7.9% share. This means the VW Clasico is now leading Mexican sales year-to-date at 29,663 units and 7.2% (+69%) compared to 28,906 and 7% (+2%) for the Nissan Tsuru…
This is actually a big deal: it is the first time in no less than 8 years that the Nissan Tsuru is not in the pole position at mid-year in Mexico! The Nissan Tiida Sedan climbs back to #3 but sees its share slow down to 4.1% vs. 5.3% year-to-date, while the VW Nuevo Jetta is back up to #5.
The Chevrolet Cruze breaks into the Top 10 for the very first time in Mexico at #10 with 1,294 sales and 1.9% share.
