Ecuador 2009: Old gen Aveo above 10%

The Ecuadorian car market is at -18% in 2009 with 92,764 registrations. Chevrolet leads the way and delivers an impressive 1-2-3 in the models ranking: The Chevrolet Aveo first generation (called Aveo Activo) is #1 with 10.7% of the market, ahead of the Chevrolet Luv D-Max (aka Isuzu D-Max) at 8.5% and the Chevrolet Grand Vitara SZ at 7.8%
Commercial vehicles are selling well in Ecuador: the Mazda BT-50 is 4th at 7.8% and the Toyota Hilux is 7th at 3.9%. The 2nd generation Aveo, called Aveo Emotion is 9th at 2.9% of the market.
