Mexico 2009: Nissan Tsuru #1 for 6th year in a row, Aveo #3
In a market down 26% at 754,918 registrations, the entire Top 5 fares better than the market, resulting in improved shares. The Nissan Tsuru finishes the year in pole position for the 6th consecutive time with 54,463 sales (-21%) and 7.2%
It is followed by the VW Jetta with 31,656 sales (4.2%), the Chevrolet Aveo at 24,157 units (3.2% and + 5 spots and 22%), the Nissan Tiida sedan at 21,399 (2.8%) and the VW Bora at 18,538 (2.5%).
The Chevrolet Chevy, #2 as a single model in 2008, sees its sales split this year into 3-door (#7) and 4-door (#9) versions. Other change, the VW Pointer disappeared this year, with the new generation launched under the name Gol (#11 at 12,226 sales) to be consistent with the rest of Central/South America.
