Romania 2008: Logan at 25%, Sandero arrives

I only have official figures for the first 8 months of the year, so if you have more complete data please make sure to get in touch!

In spite of the increased competition triggered by the country’s entrance in the European Union, the Dacia Logan maintains its stranglehold on the Romanian market, with a share slipping from 30.1% in 2007 to a still very solid 25.2% over the first 8 months of 2008. The restyled Phase 2 on sale since July helped. Logan’s 50,088 sales include 38,399 sedans and 11,689 MCV’s.

Launched in June, the Dacia Sandero is already #11 over the first 8 months of the year with 3,841 sales and 1.9%. The Skoda Octavia keeps progressing and reaches 6.1% over the period at 12,198 sales, the Renault Clio (4.3%) and Ford Focus (3.1%) are also holding well. Notice the arrival of the Kia Cee’d in 6th position at 5,266 sales and 2.6%.
