Mexico 2008: Tsuru, Chevy & Jetta still on top
The Mexican car market is down 7% this year at 1,025,520 registrations. The Nissan Tsuru is the best selling car in the country for the 5th year in a row and it manages to improve its market share greatly from 5.8% in 2007 to 6.7% this year with 68,874 sales.
The Chevrolet Chevy stays #2 with 56,142 sales (-6%), ahead of the VW Jetta also down 6% at 41,783 registrations. The Nissan Chasis Largo (an old gen Terrano Pick-up) gains 3 spots in 4th with 25,782 sales and 2.5% of the market.
The VW Pointer is down 11% and 1 spot in 5th (25,279 sales), whereas the Chevrolet Aveo (#8 all new this year) and the Honda CR-V (#10) are the new entrants in the Top 10.
