Italy 1987: Fiat Uno above 400,000 sales again

The Italian car market is up 8% this year at 1,976,541 registrations and the Fiat Uno manages to maintain itself above 400,000 annual sales in its native country for the second consecutive year, down just 1% on its 1986 record figure at 427,500 units and 21.6% market share. It is way above the Fiat Panda at #2 with 200,900 sales and 10.2%, albeit up a massive 22%.
The VW Golf stays in third position with a record 107,800 units sold and 5.5% share, possibly the best-ever figure for a foreign model in Italy. The Renault 5 follows at 81,350 sales, just above the Autobianchi Y10 at 80,750 units, both models grabbing a 4.1% share of the Italian market. The Fiat Regata is down one spot to #6 and the Alfa Romeo 33 reaches its best-ever volume, up 42% to 60,650 units and 3.1% in 7th place.
