560,000 new cars found a buyer in Spain in 1980, and two models dominate the ranking this year: the Ford Fiesta is on top with 56,900 sales and 10.2% share, just above the Renault 5 at 55,120 units and 9.9%. The Seat Ritmo rounds off the podium with 39,430 sales and 7.1%.

3 Renaults follow: the Renault 18 at 31,970 units, the Renault 14 at 31,310 and the Renault 12 at 31,270. The best selling Spanish car, the Seat 127, ranks 7th with 30,758 sales and 5.5% share. A exclusively Spanish oddity produced by Renault’s local subsidiary, FASA Renault, is the Renault 7, a Renault 5 sedan, totalling 14,500 sales this year to rank #16 with 2.6% market share.

It should be corrected about the Fiat Ritmo, it should be Seat Ritmo , and anyways the spanish Ritmo has spanish engines not matched with italian Ritmo

In fact, the Fiat Ritmo was sold with the brand SEAT. In these years all Fiat range was sold in Spain under SEAT brand and the manufacturing of those models was made in Spain. It wasn´t until 1984 when SEAT (owned by the spanish goverment) broke up relations with FIAT, and the Ritmo model was modificated and recalled Ronda, and the 127 model as Fura.
Fiat entered in the spanish market in 1985 aproximately with the Fiat Uno, the first Fiat sold in Sapin not under the Seat brand.
