Uzbekistan August 2026: Chevrolet down to 73.8% share, BYD #2 at 10.6%
The Chevrolet Cobalt holds 32.3% of the Uzbek market in August.
In August, 37,798 new cars were sold in Uzbekistan, a harsh -17.2% year-on-year fall but 20.4% up on July (31,400). The year-to-date volume is down -5.9% to 248,711. Meanwhile auto production is up 9.4% over the 7 months of 2026 to 263,700. Local producer Chevrolet maintains its stranglehold over the market but sees its share fall to 73.8% this month vs. 83.2% over the Full Year 2025. BYD is up to 2nd place with 10.9% of the market, overtaking Kia at 7.2%. Haval (2.3%) is up one spot on its FY25 ranking to #4, passing Geely at 1.9%. Newcomer Nevo ranks #6. The Chevrolet Cobalt remains by far the most popular vehicle in the country with 12,245 sales and 32.3% share, up 109% on July (5,864).
