Malawi Full Year 2025: Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max dominate market off -8.8%

The Malawian new light vehicle market is tiny with just 1,186 sales in 2025, down -8.8% year-on-year. The Toyota Hilux (-16.9%) is once again the most popular nameplate in the market with 15.8% share, albeit below the 17.3% it held in 2024. Meanwhile the Isuzu D-Max (+23.9%) is the only gainer in the Top 6 and advances one spot to #2, toppling the Nissan Navara (-17.2%). Toyota also places the Land Cruiser 70, Prado, Land Cruiser, Corolla Cross and Fortuner in the Top 10. The Mitsubishi Xpander makes its first appearance at #9.
