Taiwan Full Year 2025: Toyota Corolla Cross tightens its grip at 10.8% share, Tesla Model Y breaks record in December

It’s a disappointing year for new car sales in Taiwan at -9.5% to 414,436 units. Toyota (-0.1%) is stable and as a result significantly improves its market share from 27.3% to 30.1%. Lexus (+0.4%) defies the negative market with a tiny uptick leading it to 6.9% share while CMC (+20.4%) delivers by far the best performance in the Top 10, up four spots to #3. Honda (-12%), Mercedes (-12.9%), Hyundai (-16.2%) and BMW (-15%), all struggling, drop one rank as a result. Tesla (+8.6%) is solid and breaks into the Top 10 at #8.

Over in the models charts, the Toyota Corolla Cross (+32.6%) surges ahead to cement its leadership, marking 5 straight years at #1. The Toyota RAV4 (-3.3%) is up one spot to #2 while the CMC J Space (+858.6%) ends its first full year of sales at a splendid third place. The Toyota Town Ace (-27.2%) and Yaris Cross (-8.7%) both recede and round out the Top 5. Outstanding score by the Tesla Model Y (+55.3%), with December volumes accounting for 38% of its annual tally when it scored the biggest monthly result of the year for any model at 5,124 units. Another surprise was the 10th place of the Peugeot 408 in June. It ends the year at a much more modest 46th position.
