Vietnam October 2025: VinFast above 20,000 sales for the first time

The VinFast Limo Green ranks #3 in Vietnam in October.

According to data by local association VAMA and Hyundai, the Vietnamese new vehicle market is off -7% year-on-year in October to 43,170 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 5.6% to 330,383. This month once again we have access to exclusive figures by local manufacturer VinFast, which sends the overall market to 63,550 for the month and 454,647 year-to-date. 

VinFast smashes its monthly volume record, surpassing 20,000 for the first time and accounting for 32.1% of overall sales. Toyota (-11.1%) and Hyundai (-31.1%) are in difficulty but complete the podium above Ford (+3%) and Mitsubishi (+15.5%), both defying the negative trend. Thaco-Kia (-25%) stumbles down to #6 with Mazda (-28.5%) and Suzuki (-19.5%) also in bad shape.

Model-wise, VinFast monopolises the Top 4 with the VF 3 in the lead at 7.3% share, distancing the VF 5 at 7%, the new Limo Green at 6.5% and the Herio Green at #4. The Mitsubishi Xpander (+24.1%) follows while the VF 6 makes it five VinFast models in the Top 6. The Mitsubishi Xforce (+25.2%), Ford Territory (+21.8%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (+21.4%) also shine below.
