Romania October 2025: Dacia Bigster up to record 4th place
The Dacia Bigster hots a record ranking and share in October.
The Romanian new car market shoots up 11.1% year-on-year in October to 12,839 units, but the year-to-date tally remains in negative territory at -4.3% to 121,610. Homegrown superstar Dacia (+15.6%) holds a 26.8% share vs. 28.3% so far this year. It is followed this month by Toyota (+27.7%) with Renault down one spot on September but still up a splendid 34.2% YoY, in fact the biggest gain in the Top 10. Ford (+32%) and Audi (+31.5%) shine whereas Hyundai (-30.9%) stumbles. Below, Nissan (+337.5%), MG (+67.5%), Tesla (+57.9%) and Volvo (+50.5%) stand out.
Model-wise, the Dacia Logan (+1%) edges up to lodge a 4th consecutive win with a round 10% share vs. 9.6% year-to-date. The Dacia Sandero (+7.7%) passes the Duster (-2.9%) to #2 but stays well behind though October at 5.4% vs. 8.6% for the Duster. A Duster that seems relatively unfussed by the success of its big brother the new Bigster, up one spot on last month to a record 4th place. This means the Top 4 is 100% Dacia for the first time since November 2024. The Toyota Corolla (+57.7%) is the best of the rest at #5, distancing the Skoda Octavia (-8.9%) and surging Renault Clio (+168.6%) and Ford Puma (+138.6%). The Toyota Yaris Cross (+70.2%) also impresses at #10.
