Vietnam September 2025: VinFast VF 5 best-seller, Limo Green lands at #4

2,120 VinFast Limo Green hit Vietnamese roads in September.

Data by local association VAMA and Hyundai show a Vietnamese new car market off -18.8% year-on-year in September to 34,984, leading to a year-to-date volume up 7.9% to 287,213. This month once again we have access to exclusive figures by local manufacturer VinFast, which sends the overall market to 48,898 for the month and 391,097 YTD. VinFast holds 28.5% of its home market in September, its highest level since last February. Toyota (+0.4%) resists in 2nd place with 14.3% share vs. 12.3% so far this year. It distances a freefalling Hyundai (-34.1%) while Ford (+7.6%) shines in 4th position. Thaco-Kia (-28.5%), Mitsubishi (-29.3%), Mazda (-33.2%) and Honda (-52.8%) all freefall below.

The Top 4 models are all VinFast for the third straight month. The VF 5 is the best-seller again with 7.5% share ahead of the VF 3 at 5.5%. The VF 3 retains the YTP pole position however. The Herio Green remains in third place while the new Limo Green MPV lands directly at #4 with 4.3% share. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+100.6%) doubles its sales year-on-year to soar to #5 with 4% share vs. #7 and 2.5% year-to-date. The VF 6 makes it five VinFast models in the Top 6.
