Russia September 2025: Sales down -18.7%, Belgee, Solaris, Toyota stand out
First Top 10 finish for the Belgee X70
The Russian new car market implodes -18.7% year-on-year in September to 122,659 units. The year-to-date tally is now down -22.4% to 895,923. Homegrown behemoth Lada (-24.6%) falls faster than the market to a weak 21.5% share, its lowest since February 2022. For its part Haval (-15.5%) resists somewhat and reaches its highest share since October 2024 at 13.6%. Geely (-39.3%) is up one spot on last month to #3 despite freefalling YoY. Geely-Belarus joint-venture Belgee (+128.2%) continues to progress, grabbing a record 4th spot (and record volumes and share) and overtaking Chery (-50.5%). Changan (-49.2%) is in complete implosion also at #6. Solaris (+102%) is the other high performing carmaker, reaching all time high ranking, volume and share. Meanwhile Toyota (+48.8%) oddly surges to #8 and 2.7% share.
Over in the models charts, the Lada Granta (-25.1%) falls below the 10% share landmark for the first time since May 2022. It is followed by the Haval Jolion (-36.4%) and Lada Vesta (-43.1%) both in great difficulty. In contrast the Belgee X50 (+72.4%) reaches record volumes and share, ahead of the Geely Monjaro (-18.1%) back up three spots on last month to return to the 5th place it holds year-to-date. The Haval M6 (+2.9%) is actually up YoY at #6. Notice also the Lada Niva Legend (-18.2%) gaining share YoY despite its (very) old age and back up to #7. First Top 10 finish for the Belgee X70 (+529.2%) at #9.
