Chile September 2025: Suzuki (+50.7%), Volkswagen(+183.5%) highlight market up 23.7%

The Suzuki Baleno ranks #2 in Chile in September.

New light vehicle sales in Chile surge 23.7% year-on-year in September to 31,871 units, leading to a year-to-date volume up 4.6% to 231,870. Toyota (+9.2%) remains at its traditional pole position in the brands charts but Suzuki (+50.7%) is catching up fast, just 64 units below. Hyundai (+7.8%) drops one spot on last month to #3 with Kia (+18.3%) and Peugeot (+20.6%) rounding out the Top 5. Volkswagen (+183.5%) delivers the biggest YoY lift in the Top 10 while Changan (+67.9%) is also in outstanding shape. Geely (+188.7%), Omoda+Jaecoo (+148.8%), DFM (+135.3%), Foton (+121%), Chery (+73.9%), Jetour (+64.8%) and JAC (+51.1%) all post fantastic scores. All in all, Chinese carmakers are up 39.9% to reach 32.7% share vs. 31% so far this year.

Over in the models charts, the Toyota Hilux (+21.3%) is solid at #1, followed this time by the Suzuki Baleno (+69.3%) up three ranks on August to #2 and the Kia Soluto (+89.2%) up six to #3. The Chery Tiggo 2 is down one to #4 while the Mitsubishi L200 (+2.8%) disappoints at #5. The Mazda CX-5 (+81.6%) is up 20 spots on last month to #7 with the Hyundai Grand i10 (+38.2%) also lodging a significant YoY gain. The Suzuki Jimny surges to #10 vs. #19 so far this year and #31 over the Full Year 2024.
