Argentina September 2025: Strongest market in 8 years, Toyota Yaris #1 YTD, Ford Territory #5

First Top 5 finish for the Ford Territory in Argentina

Another outstanding month for new light vehicle sales in Argentina: up 28.9% year-on-year in September to 53,021. This is the best September result in 8 years: since the 78,889 units of September 2017. The year-to-date tally is now up 60.8% to 473,830, the largest at this time of the year since 2018 (679,976). The Top 3 brands all trail the market: Toyota is up 12.3% to 16.9% share, Volkswagen up 2% to 15% and Fiat up 19.4% to 11.7%. Renault gains 54.7% to stay in 4th place with a round 10% share, distancing Ford (+44.8%) and Chevrolet (+128.9%) both in excellent shape. Jeep (+65.8%), Citroen (+44.4%) and Nissan (+39.9%) also shine below. BAIC (+515.3%) and Haval (+1816.7%) both break their ranking record at #13 and #14 respectively.

The Toyota Yaris (+75.8%) surges ahead again to threepeat at #1 and score its 4th win in the past 5 months. The Yaris overtakes the Fiat Cronos (-5.1%) to rank #1 year-to-date. The Toyota Hilux (-21.9%) stays at #2 despite a harsh YoY fall with the Ford Ranger (+1.1%) closing out the podium. The Ford Territory (+157.1%) storms into the Top 5 for the first time at #5, while the Chevrolet Tracker (+112.8%) and Toyota Corolla Cross (+28.2%) also make themselves noticed inside the Top 10. The VW Tera (#18) is the best-selling recent launch ahead of the Citroen Basalt (#23).
