Malaysia July 2025: Perodua up to 44.6% share
At 6.7% share, the Alza helps boost Perodua’s result in July.
The Malaysian new car market stands at 75,124 units in July, bringing the year-to-date volume to 468,904. Perodua dominates the brands charts head and shoulders and scores its highest share since last March at 44.6%. Proton follows at 17.5% shared of Toyota at 15.1% Honda ranks 4th at 6.6% with now other brand above 2.2% of the market and the Top 4 carmakers holding a combined 83.8% share. Chery stays in 5th place ahead of Mitsubishi, Jaecoo and BYD.
Over in the models charts, the Perodua Bezza improves to 13% share vs. 11.9% so far this year, and the podium order is back to its usual self: the Perodua Axia stays at #2 ahead of the Perodua Myvi. The Proton Saga falls back to #4 but only 30 sales below the Myvi. The rest of the Top 9 is unchanged on last month, with the Perodua Alza (based on the Daihatsu Xenia) at 6.7% share vs. 5.7% year-to-date, the Perodua Ativa at #6, the Toyota Vios the best-selling foreigner at #7 ahead of the Toyota Hilux and Honda City.
