Qatar H1 2025: Market up 27%, Jetour at 13.8% share, Tank 500 at #6

Jetour holds a world-best 13.8% share in Qatar

It’s a very satisfying result for the Qatari new car market halfway through 2025: sales surge 27% to 42,105. Toyota (+8%) can’t keep up, and sees its share fall from 33% a year ago to 28.1% now. The story of the year is the stunting success of Chinese Jetour: up 4-fold year-on-year to 2nd place with a world-best 13.8% share. This compares to 4.5% over the First Half of 2024. Nissan (+30.5%) is relegated to third place even though it beats the market. Kia (-0.1%) disappoints and drops one rank to #4. Lexus (+20.3%) rounds out the Top 5 ahead of MG (+29.1%) up four spots to #6. Geely (+39.8%) posts an excellent score and is rewarded with the 8th spot with 3.4% share. Finally Tank lands directly at #10 with 2.5% of the market.

Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Land Cruiser SW (-1%) keeps the lead but its market share falls from 13.1% over Q1 2024 to 10.2% over Q1 2025. The Jetour T2 (+420.9%) is the success of the year so far, holding 8.9% share which goes up to 9.6% when adding the PHEV variant counted separately. The Nissan Patrol (+80.5%) gets a second wind of sorts and climbs back up to 3rd place, bumping the Toyota Hilux (+13.6%) and Lexus LX (+15.7%) down to #4 and #5 respectively. The Tank 500 is the other success story in Qatar, launched in H2 2024 and landing directly in 6th place with 2.4% share.
