Saudi Arabia May 2025: Hyundai Accent back to #1
The Hyundai Accent is the best-selling vehicle in Saudi Arabia in May.
67,369 new vehicles hit Saudi roads in May, a solid 7.2% year-on-year improvement. As a result the YTD volume is up 11.5% to 353,046. Toyota (+9%) manages to outpace the market to 29% share vs. 26.6% over the first five months of the year. Hyundai (-6.8%) isn’t that lucky and endures the only YoY decline in the Top 8. Kia (+12.1%) is strong in third place and 8.8% share, and is followed by Ford (+4.9%) up two spots on last month to #4 and Nissan (+1.4%) up three to #5. Isuzu (+478%) surges on a weak year-ago basis and ranks #6 with 4.9% share, the same level as YTD. Suzuki (+5%) stays at #7 ahead of Mazda (+0.7%). Haval (+93.6%), Jetour (+55%), Mitsubishi (+40.5%) and Renault (+14.7%) shine below.
Model-wise, the Hyundai Accent (-6.6%) easily takes the lead with 5.8% of the market vs. 46.6% year-to-date where it also dominates. The Kia Pegas (+219.2%) is in outstanding shape at #2, a ranking it also holds year-to-date. The Toyota Camry (+5.4%) places third buy would rank #1 if HEV variants are added to its total. Note the Toyota Yaris Sedan (-99.2%) is down to #176, potentially due to a stock shortage as it registers mediocre results all across the region. The Toyota Hilux (+12%), Suzuki Swift DZire (+43.4%), Hyundai Elantra (+12.3%) and Toyota RAV4 (+81.6%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10. The Toyota Veloz (#22) tops recent launches above the Kia K4 (#28), Jetour T1 (#46) and Geely GX3 Pro (#47).
