Indonesia June 2025: Wholesales off -20.8%, Suzuki Fronx instant blockbuster
The Suzuki Fronx lands directly inside the Indonesian Top 10.
Another disappointing month for new vehicles sales in Indonesia. Wholesales are off a harsh -20.8% year-on-year in June to just 57,760 units, leading to a H1 2025 tally off -8.2% to 374,740. Retail sales are down -12.2% to 61,617 for the month and -9.6% YTD to 390,467. In the wholesales brands ranking, the Top 3 manufacturers all fall faster than the market, with Toyota down -30%, Daihatsu off -37.5% and Mitsubishi down -21.9%. In contrast Suzuki (+7.8%) resists in fourth place with 8.6% share vs. 7.3% so far this year. Honda (-45.1%) tanks at #5. Chery (+167.8%) breaks all its records for the 4th month in a row, ranking #6 with 2,271 sales and 3.9% share. BYD (+30.3%) is also up but drops two spots on May to #8. Jaecoo lands at #22. Retail-wise, Toyota is down -17.4%, Daihatsu off -23.5% and Mitsubishi down -14.8%. BYD ranks #7 and Chery #8.
Over in the models charts, the Toyota Kijang Innova (-10.7%) limits its fall to deliver a 6th straight monthly win with 8.3% share. The Daihatsu Gran Max Pikap (-26.2%) repeats at #2, a ranking it now also holds year-to-date. The Daihatsu Sigra (-40.5%) and Toyota Avanza (-41.5%) both freefall, distancing the Toyota Rush (-8.3%) relatively solid in context. The Mitsubishi Xpander (-25.1%), Honda Brio (-49.4%) and Suzuki Carry Pikap (-21.1%) follow. For its very first month of sales in the country, the Suzuki Fronx is an instant blockbuster as it ranks #9 already with 3.1% share. It is joined in the Top 10 by fellow newcomer the Denza D9, up 14 spots on May to #10, the nameplate’s second incursion inside the Top 10 alongside last March (#10 also).
