Pakistan May 2025: Toyota (+135.9%) catches up on Suzuki (-8.2%)
The previous generation Toyota Corolla is still produced in Pakistan.
According to local manufacturers association PAMA, 14,786 new locally assembled vehicles hit Pakistani roads in May. found buyer in Pakistan in April, a vigorous +35% year-on-year lift. We remain however well below the May 2022 result of 22,893. Year-to-date, sales are up 28.4% to 65,574. Note not all manufacturers present in Pakistan are members of PAMA such as Kia, Changan and MG notably and therefore don’t appear in these statistics. Also, Chery and Isuzu have stopped sharing data as well.
Suzuki (-8.2%) underperforms this month, lodging the only year-on-year drop of all manufacturers present in the country. It sees its share drop to 37.3% vs. 42.2% year-to-date. Reversely Toyota (+135.9%) shoots up to 32.7% of the market vs. 26.2% so far this year. Honda (+68.9%) and Hyundai (+58.2%) also shine. Model-wise, the Suzuki Alto (-16.1%) remains the clear leader despite a disappointing loss. It distances the Toyota Corolla (+143.9%) and Yaris (+144.1%), wit the Honda Civic (+78.3%) and Sazgar Haval H6 (+17.5%) rounding out the Top 5.
