Czechia May 2025: Skoda Kamiq (+32.6%), Fabia (+33.9%) shine, Elroq up just outside Top 10

19,519 new cars hit Czech roads in May, down -1.1% year-on-year. The year-to-date volume is now up 3.7% to 100,431. Local behemoth Skoda (+1.4%) is solid at 33% share, distancing three struggling carmakers: Toyota (-10.6%), Hyundai (-20.6%) and Volkswagen (-5.4%). Kia (+7.8%) and Dacia (+15.6%) are strong below, as are Renault (+40.3%) and Ford (+37%). Mercedes (-2.1%) and BMW (-1.7%) edge down. Below, Cupra (+168.8%) soars to #14, its best ranking in the country since June 2022. Nissan (+81.6%), Porsche (+34.9%) and Audi (+17.5%) also shine further down. Chinese newcomers Jaecoo (#30) and Omoda (#35) continue to progress.
Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (-20.7%) easily tops the charts for the 9th consecutive month with a dominant 7.7% share vs. 8% year-to-date. The Skoda Kamiq (+32.6%) excels at #2, followed by the Kodiaq (-12.1%) and Karoq (-4.5%) more timid. Skoda places six models in the Top 6: add the Fabia (+33.9%) and Scala (-7.1%). The Toyota Corolla (+89.1%) is the best of the rest, up seven spots on last month to #7 ahead of the Skoda Superb (-18.9%) and Hyundai i30 (-43.8%) both in great difficulty. In contrast the Kia Ceed (+49.7%) surges ahead at #10 and the new Skoda Elroq climbs up a further three ranks to a record #12.
