Argentina May 2025: First ever win for the Toyota Yaris
The Toyota Yaris is the best-selling vehicle in Argentina for the first time.
Euphoric month anew for new light vehicle sales in Argentina: up 58.7% year-on-year to 52,188 units. This is the best result for the month since May 2018 (82,706). This way the year-to-date tally is up 78.6% to 258,377. Toyota (+11.9%) holds onto the top spot in the brands charts but vastly trails the market. Volkswagen (+68.3%) follows at #2 ahead of Fiat (+106.5%) in formidable shape. In fact the entire Top 12 is identical to last month. Jeep (+146.2%), Renault (+88.5%), Citroen (+67%) and Ford (+64.1%) fare best whereas Peugeot (+48.2%), Ram (+45%), Nissan (+23.6%) and Mercedes (+22.4%) can’t catch up with the market’s growth rate.
Model-wise, the Toyota Yaris (+49.5%) lodges its first ever monthly win – its previous best being #2 reached last month and in April 2024. The Fiat Cronos (+55.8%) is back up to #2, a ranking it also holds year-to-date vs. #3 over the Full Year 2024. Leader last year and YTD, the Peugeot 208 (+13.5%) is stuck in third place this month, distancing last month’s #1 the Toyota Hilux (+8.7%). The VW Polo (+127.6%) is in great shape ahead of the Ford Ranger (+10.3%) and VW Amarok (+37.2%) both softer. The Renault Kwid (+9130.8%) is reborn at #13 and ranks #22 year-to-date vs. #63 over FY2024.
