Portugal April 2025: Dacia Duster manages first ever win

The Dacia Duster is the most popular vehicle in Portugal in April.

The Portuguese new car market lifts 8.2% year-on-year in April to 18,752 sales, tilting the year-to-date volume into positive at +1.2% to 77,297. Peugeot (+64.6%) soars ahead to solidify its dominance in the brands charts, while Mercedes (+13.8%) advances one spot on last month to #2. Dacia (+3.6%), Volkswagen (+2.6%) and Renault (+7.7%) round out the Top 5, all in positive but failing to match the market growth rate. Citroen (+10.9%) and Kia (+9.5%) stand out in the remainder of the Top 10. Further down, Mitsubishi (+161.5%), BYD (+148.5%), Nissan (+55.3%), Ford (+36.8%) and Opel (+31.8%) impress.

Model-wise, the Dacia Duster (+177.6%) scores its first ever win in Portugal, eclipsing its previous best of #3 reached in April 2023 and September 2024. Dacia even manages a 1-2 with the Sandero (-40.4%) in 2nd place despite a year-on-year freefall. The Renault Clio (-6.5%) falls to third place for the month but steps up to #1 year-to-date. The Peugeot 208 (+20.1%) and 2008 (+75.9%) close out the Top 5 ahead of surging Toyota Yaris Cross (+60.4%), Seat Ibiza (+12.7%) and Peugeot 308 (+57%). The Mitsubishi Colt (+778.4%), Peugeot 3008 (+242.9%) and Nissan Juke (+139.4%) all manage surreal gains below.
