Argentina April 2025: Renault (+114.2%), VW (+111.2%) stand out in best market in 7 years

The Renault Kardian is the best-selling recent launch.

New light vehicle sales in Argentina continue to rally back up at a spectacular +63.2% year-on-year in April to 50,963 units. This is the best April result in 7 years: since the 76,554 sales of April 2018. The year-to-date volume after four months is up 83.5% to 205,201. Toyota (+26.5%) is back to the brands top spot with 19% share and despite vastly underperforming year-on-year. Volkswagen (+111.2%) is relegated to 2nd place but remains #1 year-to-date. The rest of the Top 12 is unchanged on last month, with Renault (+114.2%), Chevrolet (+89.7%), Jeep (+83.7%) and Citroen (+73.2%) faring best.

Model-wise, the Toyota Hilux (+58.7%) repeats at #1 but is stuck to third place year-to-date. The Toyota Yaris (+37.1%) is up one spot on last month to #2 as is the Peugeot 208 (+6.2%) to #3 and remaining the YTD leader. The Fiat Cronos (+9.9%) falls to 4th place ahead of the VW Amarok (+93.9%). The VW Polo (+141.2%) and Taos (+140.5%) both surge below. The Renault Kardian (#13) is the best-selling recent launch above the Citroen Basalt (#26), Kia K3 (#45) and Hyundai HB20 (#46).
